Safe and secure living through heaters
We contribute to creating a healthy environment
President and Representative Director
Masaoki Takahashi
We want to deliver warmth close to nature from the feet up.
Why are Japanese houses cold? It is because the air is only warm. Air does not conduct heat as well as the far-infrared rays of a flame, which deliver heat directly. Floor heating delivers heat directly with higher thermal conductivity than air. Through its warmth, we are helping to create Japanese homes that are healthy and full of smiles.
Many Japanese families still use oil heaters. However, if you look around the world, you will not find many cultures that use oil heaters. For example, in Europe, people have long used steam to heat the stone in their walls with far-infrared radiation. In Asia, fireplace heat is passed under the floor to realize underfloor heating, which has now evolved.
I thought that Japan's culture of tatami mats and its inability to ensure airtightness due to its humid climate had made it a backward country in terms of heating. I wanted to change this situation, and that is how I started my company.
Today, there are a variety of heating devices such as high-performance oil heaters, electric heaters, electric fan heaters, storage heaters, air conditioners, and floor heating systems. All of them have their advantages and disadvantages, and the heating equipment installed in each home is different. In many cases, home specialists are only able to convince clients of which heating system is best in terms of cost, and this often leads to the decision to install a new heating system. Underfloor heating is no exception. In general, underfloor heating tends to be avoided because of the high initial cost and the perceived high running costs. However, we have developed a product with twice the energy conversion efficiency of conventional ones, which reduces the initial cost and surprises industry insiders in terms of running costs. We are proud to offer one-of-a-kind floor heating systems that are safe, secure, and reliable, thanks to our unique patents, S-JET certification, and testing conducted by Better Living. In addition, because we deliver our products to house manufacturers through our own distribution channels, we are able to reduce unnecessary costs and spend more time and money on product development. Gone are the days when floor heating was considered a luxury item.
The origin of heating is fire. Fire heats objects directly with far-infrared rays and also efficiently warms rooms by creating natural air convection. Far-infrared rays are ideal for directly warming the body. Underfloor heating is another method of directly warming the body from the feet up, similar to the "fire" principle. By studying the materials used for underfloor heating, far-infrared rays can be efficiently delivered from the feet up, providing warmth close to that of nature to your loved ones. Why do we care about warming people directly? It is because the efficiency of warming is higher than that of air heaters. A simple example is a hot spring. In a hot spring, the heat source transfers heat directly to the body, warming it immediately.
As we all know, warmth is a major factor in health. For example, temperature differences between rooms can impair blood circulation and cause various diseases, while temperature differences between upper and lower rooms can cause poor concentration and sensitivity to cold. Warmth is an essential element for maintaining good health, and the negative effects of temperature differences on people must be minimized. Underfloor heating is one way to achieve this.
While it is common for customers to contact us after the breakdown of most heating systems installed in their homes, we work with house manufacturers to contact customers when the system is nearing the end of its useful life to inquire about any defects. Although we are a manufacturer, we value the relationship with our customers. We want to contribute to the health and warmth of our customers by involving house builders as well. That is our idea.
